you know what really ticks me off. people who think they're actions dont inflict anyone else. for example. someone tries palming off a work shift to someone but didnt realise they're legally not allowed to do it. so things change and the first person gets put back on the roster. first person keeps trying to palm off this shift (after previously complaining that they dont get enough shifts). its soon figured out that the reason behind the supposed 'not being able to work' is simply cause they want to go out instead of manning up and doing the work. no one else could be found for the shift- first person says, its okay, ill figure it out. then calls in 'sick'. again. oh yes its not the first time its happened my friends. in fact its far from the first time. far far from it. i mean seriously! how could anyone be so stupid! anyhow, now cause i was actually legit sick guess who gets to spend $80 on a doctors cert. to prove it. thank you. not really. i now hate you. regards- broke uni student.

Harvard Style Guide...

I personally think thats a little misleading.. Harvard Style Guide.. I immediately think that it has something to do with whats 'on trend' at Harvard this semester! but alas, it is not that exciting. im staring at that tab, wishing it was anything but exactly what it is (im also wishing i could go to sleep, but alas thats not gonna happen either.) oh the joys of not reading things properly and having to cram. welcome back to studies Katie, welcome back.

Putting the 'pro' in procrastination

oh yes, this actually happened. i now have 3 days to do two assignments that i thought were due in two weeks. oops! oh well, its now down to the late nights (or early mornings for me) and not much sleep again. too bad ive just come off being sick and actually need sleep. heres to being sick for a few more weeks then!! gotta love school! it really never changes...

A Second Hand Emotion

Do you believe in love? That full, ‘you’re all I ever wanted and now I can’t believe that I finally have you, all my dreams are coming true’ kind of love. The kind of love that you see in movies, that no matter what happens everything will be alright. The love that has that one person who will never leave. Ever. Do you believe in it? I want to. But sometimes I can’t. Maybe it’s because I haven’t found the right person yet. Or maybe it’s because all the people who I do love keep leaving me. I find someone, I find that ‘my heart starts racing when I see your name and I have no hope when you’re in front of me’ person. And maybe I love too hard or too soon or too often. Maybe it’s my fault. Maybe it is my fault. I love and they leave. But the point is they leave. And the ones who don’t want to leave, are a million miles away. Literally. The 5am conversation people, the talk about anything people; are across the ocean, a million miles away where I can’t reach them. I heard once that love does not knock often, so when it does you have to let it in. But what do you do when it’s hurt disguised as love and you let it in anyway?

Broken?

4 years ago, I had it all planned. 2 years ago I had it all planned. Today; not so much. I have heard all my life that I can do whatever I wanted. That the world is mine and it’s my oyster, I can create my own pearl. But what if I can’t? Have you ever thought of that? It all seems so easy when you’re there and everyone is telling you that you can do it. But what will you think when no one is there and you’re falling? Or the people who are there only tell you what you can’t do? Do you let it get you down? Or do you rise above it and prove them all wrong? I know which one you’d like to think you’d do. That same one which I thought I would pick when the time came. That would be the best outcome wouldn’t it! The little one who gets picked on, all of a sudden rises above everything and proves to everyone else exactly what she can do! That’s the dream; but it’s not reality. When push came to shove I broke. I broke; lying in the dark, under the covers, crying myself to sleep broke. Am I ashamed? No. Am I proud of it? Not really, but will I let it define me? Never.

Everything Has Changed

Ive been gone. i know. its been terrible for all. including me. i swear! but really, it honestly has. i started up what i thought was going to be a play of my own writing but lets be honest it was a bunch of musing of a now 22 year old, who has an idealised version of herself in her mind that only she sees. *insert big cheesy grin here* maybe ill post some of them on here? who knows, actually that might be a very good idea, seeing as how it will bring most of you up to date on what has been happening. though now looking back at my profile, i do need to update that! 2 years have gone and everything has changed. everything. has. changed.

Alright so i have seen all of these 30 day song/photo/ whatever challenges all over facebook and tumbler (no i dont have a tumbler and no i wont give out my facebook to randoms...)
anyhow, we all know my track record for being able to post things daily so im just gonna post everything in one here. i'll do the song one, and maybe a specific band one a bit later. :)

Please Be Mine- Jonas Brothers
this is such a beautiful song, and was the first song that the boys wrote together. i would die if someone sang this to me. absolute icing on the cake it would be.

#2 Least Favourite Song:
Anything heavy metal. i can't stand listening to it and hearing what they are doing to their vocal chords. im a singer and most of those bands dont know how to sing properly to not permanently damage their vocal chords. then they end up like the lead singer of Linkin Park, if you listen to their early songs, he has a much bigger range than the laster songs. why. he destroyed his voice not singing properly...

#3 Makes You Happy:
Ours- Taylor Swift
This is a very cute song. i love the simple lyrics and just the way it all fits together. it makes me smile a lot when i hear it. its also my ringtone on my phone. :)

#4 Makes You Sad:
Halloween/ Goodbye Love- RENT
this song breaks my heart every time i hear it. its so bittersweet and painful and truthful and its at a point in the show where everything comes out and is laid bare on the table. its so raw, it also my favourite song from the show.

Enchanted- Taylor Swift
for no other reason than the lines of

thats all im gonna say about that one.

Waking up in Vegas- Katy Perry
cause ive woken up in Vegas, with friends of mine after a night that i wont forget. and if you want details forget it. what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas baby, ;)

#7 Reminds You of a Certain Event:

road trip with some friends of mine. we went camping and the whole trip there were only 3 songs that the 4 of us in the car could agree on. i learnt the words to this song on the trip. lol.

this is a hard one, cause i know all the worlds to a lot of songs. as a singer doing covers for the crowd i kinda have to... but i would say..
Wannabe- Spice Girls
only because this is one that i have never forgotten and bust out at a karaoke bar whenever i can. this is a lot of fun to perform!

lets be honest here who can't not get up and dance when this one comes on! though it did really disturb me when i first realised what the song was actually about, and realised that 7yo's were dancing and singing along to a song about sleeping with someone...

i saw these guys live in concert and i had SUCH a hard time not falling asleep during this song. im not even kidding it literally took everything i had not to drift off, cause it was so pretty and relaxing and... ^_^

i can't choose between them. i literally could listen to both of them for days on end. if i could only listen to these two for the rest of my life i would be quite happy with that.

yeah, im a beilieber. i quite liike his music, its catchy and its got a good dance beat to it that being a dancer i appreciate. and its cute and im a sucker for cute.

how i see life, and its me. life is a climb, but im gonna do it and get up and over that mountain. its explains my outlook on life and how i want to live it, which explains me.

call me nuts but i did actually like this song when it came out. it was fun and a little off center and it made me laugh. then i lived in a house with 4 kids who were obsessed with all the mixes of crazy frog and now i want to kill him.

well considering the place where i work has he radio on all day i hear the top 40 quite a bit. but this one i hear so often its not funny. they really should find something else to play for a bit.

this is a fantastic song. i love it and the message is awesome. it should be played! i shall call it in tomorrow i think. :D

again, dont judge me. listen to them before you make any judgements on my taste of music. i think you will be surprised. i know i have made several people unwilling fans by just playing these songs and not telling them who its by. they have liked and then ive dropped the bomb shell. the looks on their faces were priceless!

because its awesome, and i can really get everything out in it.

really, who could ever pass up this song! xD

its one of those songs, that evoke long stares into the abyss of the nothing thats in front of you. whenever i hear this song i think of a broken house falling apart at the seems. and of that chick dying on Neighbours... never watched it, but the add made me cry and they played this song.

#23 Want at Your Wedding:
Only Hope- Switchfoot
such a beautiful song! i love this and it never ceases to make me smile and blush! it holds extra special meaning cause i sang it in my school choir one year- complete with 3 part harmonies. it was very pretty. and its just a pretty song. and im not gonna lie the vision of Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore) in A Walk To Remember walking down the aisle to this song, inspired me a lot.

#24 Want at Your Funural:
Eternity- Jonas Brothers/ Flame Trees- Sara Blasko version.
again simply beautiful songs. i have seriously considered getting Eternity tattooed on my self somewhere because of that song. Flame Trees is hauntingly amazing. look them up, listen to them and this will all make sense.

#25 Makes you Laugh:
Better than Revenge- Taylor Swift
Several reasons. the matter of fact way she goes about saying several things in the song. and then my favourite line
"she thinks im psycho cause i like to rhyme her name with things."
never fails to crack me up, cause how many of us have done it with a girl who we dont like. and also being a song writer, rhyming names with things is kinda a specialty.

This was a long list too as i play the guitar. but this would be my favourite as it explains what happens to me to a T when i fall hard for someone. :p

Loooooonnnnnnnggggggg list, but this would be number 1, at the top, and i want to be able to play it on the piano. i can only imagine (pun intended!) what it would be like to be able to bust out a piano acoustic version of this somewhere. sooo beautiful!

tough one, cause my inspiration comes form many different random places. but this one, makes me think that mo matter how hard things are they will get better. so it pushes me to go on, and generally when i get a kick in the butt like that it gives me that extra something for an idea to come through.

this is the one that happened while i was alive, therefor i am putting this one. its amazing, and shows how much some people can do if they really want to help. i have the shirt and i did as much as i could. im not one to sit behind a computer and just say things, i like going out and actually helping where i can. now there i couldn't really go across the world and help- if i could have i would have. so instead i did what i could to help. i bought the song, i bought the shirt, i bought the show from itunes, i donated... what did you do?

Well i failed that last challenge EPICALLY!
thats a record i think even for me. i mean i didn't even get one post in there... oops. and its almost been a month...

dont get me wrong i do actually think about writing on here, but its actually getting up and opening the page and starting to write, that holds me back. (i know its so much work to do it!)

anyhow, im not gonna start again, cause it will simply be useless. so for now its just i will try and post more often and i will post when i can. thats about all i can promise at the moment. :D
