I've got lots of pictures in my head...

alright so im slightly failing at this whole post regularly thing...
i swear im trying! i promise. anyway, here is another round of my view on life.

what do you do when you are completely thrown? i mean you were at the receiving end of a curve ball you had no idea was coming? and not a easy one either, this curve ball was fast hard and pretty much knocked the wind out of you..
yeah i have no idea either. so any tips would help greatly to be honest. but so far this is the way i have dealt, talking. talking to people, and the best part about this is those people are there to help you through it. that was my favourite thing about all this. the person who i first turned to was there to help me back up. and not just that but helped me laugh again. this was brilliant cause i wasn't sure they were going to be, but this person was the first one i wanted to turn to. so bonus. :)

i wont go into details about why or what threw me as that is my personal life and i dont really like sharing (whats the point of a blog i know) but... just keep in mind, when you catch the curve ball, it feels freaking awesome.

Everything You Think You're Not....

okay, my rant time.

being cool. what does that mean to you? for most people it means being 'hip', part of the 'in' crowd, being someone who stands out from the rest, a trend setter, someone who you notice because of something unusual, in other words for most people... someone other than them. but what is it really?
answer- being yourself.
i know, i know, so many people say that, and its all about being happy with who you are and you'll be fine, blah, blah, blah, blah. but....

have you ever noticed that those who are really truly considered 'cool' are the ones who dont care what others think... who do things cause they want to not because some toothpick of a 'celebrity' in a magazine is telling them too... who really honestly doesn't give a damn... coincidence? i think not.

and i do understand where you are coming from, i have been there. reading those magazines wanting to be exactly like the models on the pages and then seeing that style and flawlessness on girls at school. hearing those people talk about how their life is perfect and when they do have troubles, wanting to be able to face it with the confidence and poise that they do. i understand wanting all of that.

but i figured it out. i can have that as well. i just had to stop worrying about how people will react to me. if i did something that i wanted to do, sure i might piss a few people off, but thats not my problem. it sounds mean, and conceited (and trust me im not like that normally) but you can't please everybody so why try?
and the more i found myself doing things for me and not trying to be like everyone else, the more people said they liked me, they though i was cool- which was a completely new concept!

so it is something your mother says when your feeling like crap, but have you ever thought that she might actually be telling the truth... just a thought.

rant over.

The Mirror Can Lie...

you have no idea how true this statement is. it was made extra known to me a few hours ago by a friend. whom we shall call Elle. obviously its not her real name, but i like calling her that cause as much as she doesn't want to believe it she is very Elle-egant. huh, see that. corny i know, but cute. :p So Elle is an amazing person but she has been battling her daemons. she has a voice inside of her head that always says nasty things. 'other me' as she is known. not worthy of a name besides that. these nasty thing range from the petty to the down right disturbing, and never cease to make Elle's life horrid.

but i wish she could see what such a beautiful person she is. she is an AMAZING writer, but she cares too much about what other people think. she wants to love life but doesn't feel worthy of it. she has a wicked sense of humour but doesn't let very many people see it. shes not social yet one of the fiercest friends you could ever have. she has so much to give but no one is willing to give her an chance, and then she is not willing to give herself a chance. i really do wish she could see what i see.

and before you all come back at me saying that i should be saying all this to her instead of posting it on my blog, i have and she knows all of this i pushed her today with all of this. im sure she got pissed at me, but i have actually said it to her.

so Elle if you're reading this, as i said before you dont have to believe this, but dont forget it. you are amazing, beautiful and wonderful. never give up on anything cause the best things in life are the ones you HAVE TO fight for. you have the fire, you just need it to burn when you want it to burn not the other way around. you are incredible. <3

The Wonderful Wizard of AUS

yes i know, its on purpose you dimwit.

that was for whom ever decides to tell me thats not the way the song really goes.

but how appropriate, the wonderful wizard of Aus. it really is like magic over here, i mean not only is it beautiful but everything seems easier, getting a job, living... and yet i want to leave. why? cause its where i was born, not home anymore. i want to say the Flag is home, but really i dont know where home is. i haven't found it, not yet anyway. i will one day, when i settle down with the typical husband and 2.5 children. maybe then that will be home. but for right now, i want to go back to place where i call home. Flag, where i want to be, where i will have a job and hopefully a guy, where i will be around people who get me, not some version of me who grew up in their eyes with their restrictions. somewhere where i can thrive on being pushed daily and not having anyone but myself to fall back on. where i can be independent and out on my own. where i can LIVE. go out and explore the world without the safety net of my family with me. where i can make my own mistakes and create my own memories.
dont get me wrong i love being here with all my family and in my own room and all, but this town is too small for me (even though Flag is smaller), lets rephrase, this town can't hold all of me.

i want to follow my dreams...

we're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of...

Smile and Cry

so i found this AGES ago and burst into tears while reading it. i randomly found it again the other day and had to post it, cause it is sooooo beautiful!!

Her hair was up in a ponytail
Her favorite dress tied with a bow
Today was Daddy's Day at school
And she couldn't wait to go.
But her mommy tried to tell her,
That she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand,
If she went to school alone.
But she was not afraid;
She knew just what to say.
What to tell her classmates
Of why he wasn't there today.
But still her mother worried,
For her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again,
She tried to keep her daughter home.
But the little girl went to school,
Eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees,
A dad who never calls.
There were daddies along the wall in back,
For everyone to meet
Children squirming impatently,
Anxious in their seats.
One by one the teacher called,
Each student from the class.
To introduce their daddy,
As seconds slowly passed.
At last the teacher called her name,
Every child turned to stare.
Each of them was searching,
For a man who wasn't there.
"Where's her daddy at?"
She heard a boy call out.
"She probably doesn't have one"
Another student dared to shout.
And from somewhere near the back,
She heard a daddy say,
"Looks like another deadbeat dad,
Too busy to waste his day."
The words did not offened her,
As she smiled up at her mom.
And looked back at her teacher,
Who told her to go on.
And with hands behind her back,
Slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child,
Came words incredibly unique.
"My daddy couldn't be here,
Because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be,
Since this is such a special day.
And though you cannot meet him,
I wanted you to know.
All about my daddy,
And how much he loves me so.
He loved to tell me stories
He taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses,
And taught me to fly a kite.
We used to share fudge sundaes,
and ice cream in a cone.
And though you cannot see him,
I'm not standing here alone.
Cause my daddy's always with me
Even though we are apart.
I know because he told me,
He'll forever be in my heart."
With that, her little hand reached up,
and lay across her chest.
Feeling her own heartbeat,
Beneath her favorite dress.
And from somewhere in the crowd of dads,
Her mother stood in tears.
Proudly watching her daughter,
Who was wise beyond her years.
For she stood up for the love
Of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her,
Doing what was right.
And when she dropped her hand back down,
Staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft,
But its message clear and loud.
"I love my daddy very much,
He's my shining star.
And if he could he'd be here,
But heaven's just too far.
You see he was a fireman
And died just this past year.
When airplanes hit the towers
And taught Americans to fear.
But sometimes when I close my eyes,
It's like he never went away."
And then she closes her eyes,
And saw him there that day.
And to her mother's amazement,
She witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children,
All starting to close their eyes.
Who knows what they say before them,
Who knows what they felt inside.
Perhaps for merely a second,
They saw him at her side.
"I know you're with me Daddy."
To the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers,
Of those once filled with doubt.
Not one in that room could explain it,
For each of their eyes had been closed.
But there on the desk beside her,
Was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.
And a child was blessed, if only for a moment,
By the love of her shining bright star.
And given the gift of believing,
That heaven is never too far
-Unknown

how amazing is that!

second post of 2011

wow, i just realised that that was my first post of 2011. i REALLY haven't been on here in a while... oops! oh well. i shall be better at this i promise. part of it is; its hard for me to keep up with everything because i am so busy. and then talking about everything, im gonna be honest something i don't want to talk about or i don't want some people to see them. but i guess thats what blogs are for right. to tell the world about how seemly unperfect your life is, no matter if its just you reading it or thousands of people reading it. doesn't really matter in this day and age, we all want instant gratification and when we don't get it we move onto the next thing. heeelllloooo facebook. (i cracked, im on there too).

IM BAAAAAACCCCCCCKKKKK!!!

so i haven't been on in SUCH a long time!!! its crazy how fast time goes. i mean i swear it was only yesterday that i was on here.

anyway, whats been happening.. i found many acting jobs. i was helping an Acting 1 class with their project and ended up being in it. sooo much fun! i filmed a couple of pieces, that never made it to the screen. i am helping produce and written music for a piece about the holocaust. i got involved in helping students at my old high school. i got my teachers certificate in Ballroom dancing, and i got a job offer to work in the states as a dance teacher! and thats just the performing arts!

i also found one of my bestest friends in the whole world! Bayley is amazing and she is so much fun not only to be around but to talk too. i tell her everything and she the same with me. we are both musically inclined and both write so its so much fun to write together! i get so much inspiration from her, literally we will be having a conversation and at several points throughout it, both of us can say "wait, i need to write that down, they were really good lyrics!!" and its just some random thing that one of us said. and then there is Kathy, who is another amazing girl and again another best friend. she is a beautiful soul who has so much that she can't see. and it kills me that she doesn't see what i see. but she is a fantastic friend one of those people who no matter what is going on with you she will listen and be there. and shes an amazing author her book Blue Star is incredible!! you watch i bet anything that she will big one of these days!

so i have finished my year and a half in the states. am in Aus but i am looking at going back, i want to go back soooooooooo bad. i cannot tell you how badly i want to go back. i miss everyone there soooo much, and even though it kills me to say this, i miss them more than what i missed people when i left Aus. that tells me that i am meant to be there for a little while longer. or to at least go back. i will go into this later, but its like there is a part of me missing and i have left it back in Flag.

though on good news, i have been keeping busy doing a whole bunch of things. i got back into teaching- accidentaly- and i realised how much i actually LOVE it. i was at my old high school catching up with some of my old teachers and i got pulled into helping the year 12's with their piece and then i got pulled into helping my old drama teacher teach some of her younger dance classes. which was funny that she s teaching them, cause technically im more qualified to teach than she is. and those are her words not mine! :D and im doing some promotion/interview work for CCAP (Cultural Care Au Pair) the company that i went over to the states on. so very busy, but thats how i like it. im much happier when im busy and less bored (noooo! really! thats the whole point of being busy...)

what else, still no guys (thats freaking complicated, but thats another story, one which i don't really share willingly) so sorry to all those who thought they were gonna get the scoop.

anyway, i shall try and post more regularly.
till next time

Jonas Brothers World Tour 2010

so back in may i bought tickets to this concert, i have been dieing too see the Jonas Brothers in concert. they have never toured Australia so i have never had the chance to see them before. i have been a huge fan of theirs for a while now (i would put it close to about 3 years). so when i got the chance i went all out, i mean VIP tickets and as close to the front as i could get. and boy did it pay off!!! though it really was a day of ups a downs. aka, the worst and best day of my life!!

it all started at 7am after having only about 5 hours sleep. got up and when i finally got on the road, it was a 2 and a half hour drive to the venue. then when i got there they told everyone that we couldn't park until 1:45. i got there about 12pm/ 12:30 so this was a problem. even more so for everyone else who had gotten there earlier than me. so a bunch of us parked in a plaza car park just up the road. so i found some tj girls and we stood and chatted. it was so hot though! i regretted wearing my jeans. but they made my outfit! anyway, at about 1:30 they started letting people park so we all decided to go get our cars. thats when we realised that some of the cars that had been parked in the plaza parking area had been towed- mine included! i was so nervous about it! i found the place where they took the cars, and it was on the other side of town- i started freaking out cause i needed to drive home that night to work the next day, i lived so far and had no where to stay! thankfully i found someone who was going to pick up their car so after lots of questions and planning to keep our spot in line when they finally gave out the tickets we went to get our cars. and $100+ later thankfully that was the end of the worst part.

we got back and went straight into the venue for sound check and it was perfect!! we got seats right at the end of the main catwalk. so camp rock cast came out and they were awesome! i got to ask them a question and Alyson saw my I <3 Alyson poster i made for her. then demi came out, she didn't sing but she answered some questions. then jb came out and they were awesome! i started freaking cause it all became so real for me. i have never seen them before- its my first concert. i've only seen them on tv or on the internet, so i was like OMJ they are real and just as amazing in person as they are on tv!! they sang BB Good and Pushing me away. during BB Good, Joe cam down the end of the catwalk and looked directly at me and sang to me!!! i just about died right there and then. he had sunglasses on but the way the sun was shinning, a bit got behind his glasses and i could see he was looking right at me! it was awesome! and i still can't get over it. :) i almost got picked for musical chairs jman was picking and it was between me and another girl. he picked the other girl. boo, but it was fun to watch!

then the concert started! i was right against the catwalk again but this time one of the smaller ones. on Kevin's side. it was awesome! i was right there the whole time! camp rock people came out and i was dancing like crazy the whole time. when Alyson came out i held up my Alyson love poster again. she saw it again, looked at me and said she loved me too! love that girl so much! when Mdot was singing Fire he came over to our catwalk and i was the first one to jump up and scream for him, so he came over to me and held my hand- again died there on the spot (not as much as joe cause i'm a total joe girl but still!). then he gave the silly band on his wrist to a little girl who had a bunch of them on her wrist it was so sweet! and again i almost got picked (just wasn't my night for that stuff!) to go up on stage and learn the Heart and Soul dance. when Alyson said to get picked you need to make noise i screamed and jumped up and down and people next to me were going 'pick her'! (probably cause they wanted me to shut up- but that wasn't going to happen ;))

Demi came out next and nothing really happened with her, the guy next to me on the other hand, she came over to him about 3 different times, grabbed his hand and sang directly to him. i was talking to him later and he was like freaking out because of it. so cool. but i got to touch everyone's hands -Anna Maria, Jman, Mdot, Alyson, Demi and a bunch of dancers too.

Then Jonas came out. i was flipping out, screaming like there was no tomorrow. i was pretty much determined to loose my voice that night (which for some reason is hard for me to do, i never really completely loose it... its a good thing i guess). i had made another poster that said 'Play Australia'. on the other side of my Alyson poster it said 'JB didn't come to Australia, so i came to JB' but i think that was a bit too long for them to read. so i simplified it. anyway, so i was having the time of my life singing and dancing and dieing every time Joe looked my way (i caught eyes with him quite a bit during the performance...) at one point he came over to our catwalk and looked at me then looked at my poster, looked back at me and laughed. not sure if he was laughing at me or that fact that i was requesting a song from the audience. i am leaning towards the latter for my own sake though. i believe kevin also read my sign too, but he didn't make a face or laugh like joe did. though i did get a smile (a tiny laugh) and raised eyebrows at my dancing though. i was having way too much fun to care! especially when Nick forgot the lyrics to Lovebug. that was classic, but we, the audience, had his back and just sung it for him. then Joe let us keep going with the chorus. it was so funny! i only caught eyes with Nick once, cause every time he came over to our catwalk he would look at the audience behind us, he only really looked down at us once (which i can understand, it was a huge audience. but really maybe twice...) :) before i was ready for it it was over, i didn't want it to end! i could have stayed there listening, singing, dancing, screaming all night! but they said good buy and did their final rounds of touching everyone's hands (i got all of them too!) and left.

i went hotel stalking after with a girl (who's coincidently was named Kate) i'd met during the concert. she was sitting next to me. (she had a poster that said 'Jack Lawless is Flawless'- Jack is their drummer. and Kevin took it and gave it to Jack. it was at that point that it was her turn to die! and all us girls be really jealous of her ;)) but there was no luck on that front. we didn't find them or figure out which hotel they were staying in. did anyone figure it out? but either way it was such a good night and i can't wait to see them again. i so wish i could see them again on this tour, but cause of money and work i can't. boo. :( but i will have these memories, picture, video, stories and to die for moments forever!!! i didn't think it was possible but i fell in love with them even more!!!

International Talent Showcase

so last Sunday (15th of August) i auditioned for International Talent Showcase. this showcase is basically an invitation only convention for new talent around the country to perform for the best agents in the US, Europe and Asia. its an amazing opportunity for everyone. so i did the audition and it went pretty well. i sang (a little of 'Caught in the Crowd' by Kate Miller Heidke), i acted (we were given a small script to read) and i danced (i did a small piece from my 'Cowboy Casanova' piece). the scout- Sharon- really liked it. and everyone loved my accent, score! anyway we were told a little about the whole thing, then we all went home anxiously waiting the phone call the next day. now it was not that everyone was gonna get a call back, we all knew that some people wouldn't. yet just after 10am that Monday i got a phone call saying they wanted to see me again! i was so excited, jumping around the room and squealing the whole time! the next thought was already in my head but pushed to the front by someone who i live with. what if its a scam, what if they're trying to take advantage of not only me but everyone else who was at the audition... so i spent 3 hours on the internet checking them out and this is basically what i found.

They are legit, they are covered by the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and have an A rating with them. which for those who are not in the US is really good, the BBB is the place you go to if you have a complaint with a business. and it also proves that they are actually a business and not just some front for the money.
There are some people who say its a scam- that they only want your money, yet i only found those reports from people who had not gotten a call back (suggesting that they were upset and were just venting...) also yes they ask you to put down $500 as a deposit, but when you actually get there they say that what ever you can put down to begin with is fine. they are not really strict on the whole money aspect as long as it is payed off before the convention (and with a whole year, its not hard).

I also called the hotel where they hold the convention The Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami, and the person who i spoke to had nothing but good things to say about it. they have had it at the Doral for the past 3 years (Sharon explained that they switch it up between this Hotel and another- i can't remember the name of it, but someone who was at the call back had, again legit) and they guy on the phone said that everyone he had spoken to or had come across had been the real deal and were very nice.

Also on various websites (they're official one and their facebook page) there were all good things- i know, they only put the good things on there right. but still for the amount of people that attend these things (about 200 max- and thats from all over the whole country) the good definitely outweighed the bad.

Also they tell you in the intro that they found a star of movies Mena Suvari from the American Pie movies. i checked this out and on IMDB.com is says that she attended a modeling convention before getting picked up for the movie, but thats all. i couldn't find what the convention was called, but i'm assuming that it was ITS. but still...

Overall i think the whole thing is legit and worth it. i am still gonna try and do things myself- gotta get some help from various people though. :) and i'll keep you all updated on everything that happens with it all!

RENT No Day But Today

so anyone who knows me, knows i'm a musical freak. and i mean freak, and proud of it! my favourite musical is RENT. for those who don't know what RENT is about about its basically a group of 20- somethings living in New York in 1989/ 1990 and their life in the middle of the AIDS epidemic. its an amazing play and really sheds a light on tings that really need to be talked about; when the play was written in 1994 and today in 2010. thats part of the reason i love it, is its real and gritty and not afraid to really say whats happening. and its still relevant today as it was over 10 years ago because of the core message of love and living life in the moments.

i first found RENT through the movie version of the Broadway play. it had just come out on DVD (not in theater's, otherwise i would have found it much earlier) i watched it for the first time and i was intrigued. the first song Seasons of Love (in the movie, i know its at the beginning of the second act in the play) i liked, but it wasn't until about 20 minutes into the movie, that i was hooked. after the first ballad Glory we hear 3 knocks at the door and Mimi enters with Light my Candle. i loved it from then on. from Roger and Mark to Collins and Angel. i could not get enough and have been a total Renthead ever since. :)
sadly i found out that RENT finished its 12 year run on Broadway in 2008, before i got the chance to go and see it. but coincidently that same year i sang Seasons of Love with my school choir as part of my Senior year. it was so cool, cause my younger sister and i sang the solo pieces. not only was it so much fun but that song hold such a special place in my heart now. :) i was crushed that i would never be able to see RENT on the stage until it was revived in a couple of years (which could span anywhere from 2-3 to a complete decade), then i found out about the Hollywood Bowl production. Neil Patrick Harris of How I Met Your Mother was directing it and several of Hollywood's biggest names were going to be in it such as Vanessa Hudgens, Nicole Scherzinger, Collins Pennie and Wayne Brady. but i was not concerned with the cast i was simply overjoyed that a) it was being revived so soon, and b) that it was gonna be at a place and time that i could go and see it! i was ecstatic that i was gonna be able to go! the only down side was i had to drive for 8 hours either way to get there, because i had to work i only got to stay 1 night, and being alone in LA can be a little frightning, but i was okay. the upside? i got to see RENT! i saw Tracie Thoms (though not a big actor, she's the one i was most excited to see!) perform the role of Joanne live! (she was in the movie and the final Broadway cast- which was filmed, and of which i have the dvd), i now have a RENT shirt, it was the closing night so everyone was giving their absolute best and to top it all off i got to Moo with Maureen! i'm not even kidding when i say if i died tomorrow (touch wood that i don't) i would be happy. i saw my favourite musical in the whole world live, and i never thought i would!! i could not be happier!
so as they say in the play there really is No Day But Today.

Till next time
